Badass Babes of History & Legend The buzz last week was that The Mary Avina (TMA) had migrated north to Cambria, CA. This was not the case. TMA is still bobbling around locally no doubt rocking out to air guitar and/or throwing bushels of rose petals upon herself in front of a mirror (both of these are featured in her YouTube videos, if you are curious). The most recent intelligence gathered regarding this Elvis of the pool world consists of the following text message sent to me this week:
Here is a link to my archive of TMA’s posts. I don’t “think” she is rude. She IS rude.
And that’s the Weekend Update with TMA. All good things must come to an end someday, but this one has the potential to provide me (if not you) with several weeks of amusement. TMA, I think you are beginning to understand how small the billards community can be. As someone once suggested to you, “Don’t s— where you eat.” It seems that TMA still has action on her mind so there’s hope yet… Carrying on… Larcena Pennington P I O N E E R
Badass Babes of History & Legend There has been no response (acceptance or denial) to my challenge to The Mary Avina I documented in the last post. Disappointing, but not surprising. I did a little legwork of my own and I think all hope of there ever being a match has now been sufficiently crushed. Moving on… Ching Shih also known as Cheng I Sao P I R A T E

Manny Pacquiao’s Pacmania Open 9-Ball Tournament Pacmania was causing quite a buzz leading up the actual event. In addition to the $10,000 guaranteed prize fund, the winner of the tournament was to play world champion boxer Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao a challenge match for additional bonus money. I got up at 6:00 a.m. to get to Hard Times by 9:30 a.m. since I hadn’t registered in advance. I got through the doors at 10:00 a.m. and the tournament was slated to start no later than 11:00 a.m. The tournament started fashionably late at 1:20 p.m.
Tang “Little Red Riding Hood” Hoa was the only one at the tournament with the Halloween spirit. He certainly made up for all the spirit we were lacking and more. See for yourself…
