    1. I’ll do some of the other stories I have (cuz that means I don’t have to write anything new, hehe). 🙂

  1. Clyde and I just listened to it and we liked it 🙂 This will save me from having to read your posts to him!

In all seriousness, very nice Melinda. I’ve always enjoyed listening to a writer read their own words as I think only then can relay the thought and emotions that were there when they were penned.

    1. Glad you liked it, and I also thought about how hearing a story from the writer could be different from reading it yourself. It’ll be neat to see how much variation there is after I do a few more.

  2. A great post. Very well read. Clear and read in a manner then a listener would want to hear it.

Hope you do more like this. Since these are all your personal experiences it is great hearing you actually tell them.

  3. I love it! You have a very relaxing voice and I agree with J, I’d much rather hear you tell it than read it myself! Nice work

  4. I like the way you say “dudely” 😛

Heath said it best for me, I could put a bunch of these on a playlist.

    1. Haha, yes, I also make up words, especially when I can’t think of a real one that is better. 😀

  5. Really enjoyed it. Great story! I guess I’ll stick to my 1-2 hr. per day practice routine, as he said, what’s the point? Keep ’em coming, you are a gifted writer and your voice is pleasant.

  6. Took me a few days to get back to comment and as I am still busy I’ll keep it short and sweet. Yes. It’s a good idea. Looking forward to more.

  7. 8 hours of pool in addition to 8 hours of work? 8 hours of work will pay for 8 hour of pool @ $/hour after work at say $10.00/hr at minimum wage won’t do it. Something has to give.

Listening to you telling the story added a new dimension to your tale. The message was as I read it but the added emphasis and pauses are as you intended in your telling and that made it more enjoyable.

Then again, they may raise the minimum wage and you can ask for a raise.

Did you then or are you now practicing more?

    Be well.

    1. I practice as much as I can and on the rare days I can play for 8 hours, I am very happy. 🙂

  8. Great podcast!

I really liked the story. I felt like I was in the room with you.

    Who was the player?

I’m currently only playing 2-3 times a week unless I’m practicing for a tournament, then I’ll play more. When I play though it’s for 4-6 hours at a time. Plan to play more. Wedding planning has thrown a fork into everything!

    1. Congrats! Hope the wedding doesn’t bust you. Identities of all the people in my Instasham stories are kept secret… 😉

  9. What a lovely voice, soothing, calming. I wanted to get home so I could dial 1-976-OMGWTFRU.
Are you taking requests? How about recording “even if everyone has a price”, a very poignant message there

  10. Wise beyond your years and talented way beyond the call of duty. I like it and hope to here more.
